Cpl Matthew Dickie and Cpl Andrew Duncan travelled down to Dunfermilne at the beginning of june to represent Aberdeen and North East Scotland Wing at athletics.

Matthew came third in the shot put and Andrew was fourth at the high jump.

The boys had a good day.

On the 20th of June, Cpl Matthew Dickie, Cpl Andrew Duncan and Cdt Dylan Skinner departed Stonehaven. They were on their way to the start point of the Scottish poisk. They travelled with the team manager - Mr Murdoch and Mr Jardine who was there to assist with the marshalling.

The course was tough but the boys eventually reached the end on Sunday afternoon finishing in a respectable fifth place.

A really enjoyable weekend although the midgies didn't help.

The Venue was Cato Park Sports pavilion in Peterhead

The event was the annual Wing Athletics, this year was just like the usual athletics but with a different venue.  This year it was contested in Peterhead at the Cato Park sports pavilion. 

The weather was kind to the cadets although there was a breeze,

Well done to the 1297 team although they didn't win the whole event each cadet that took part each won a Medal or two. Below is the 1297 Team.

Congratulations are on in order to 107 Squadron who won overall. And good luck for those picked for the Wing team to represent Aberdeen Wing in the Regional Part of the compition later this year.

On the 26th of April, cadet Corporal Matthew Dickie and CI G Craig and his wife attended the Balmoral Races. They helped with the marshalling of the races. The weather was quite nice but had a brief patch of showers.

Matthew had a great day and really enjoyed himself and would recommend this event for cadets to attend next year.

1297 ATC Best Cadet 2007

On Thursday 14th of February 1297 Stonehaven Squadron ATC awarded the Best Cadet prize to a loyal and excellent Cadet.  Cadet Corporal Andrew Duncan of Newtonhill won this Trophy and prize of a Flight in a Helicopter on behalf of the Squadron and Committee.  The Helicopter he will be flying in will be a Robertson R22.

Andrew won this Award by being not only the best cdt but turning up on parade nights every week and doing his bit for his sqn by taking part in such activities as the Wing Athletics, X-country, the Annual Remembrance Parade, going to a couple Camps, Flying and Gliding, and other numerous activities within the Sqn. He has also showed some great promise by becoming Cadet Corporal within the last year.  Everyone within the Sqn is pleased for all the hard work he has done for his Sqn.  And wish him luck for his flight in the Helicopter.
